Your Aid in Action: Myanmar-Thailand Emergency Relief

Dear Yvonne,
Thank you for your generous support towards Mercy Relief’s emergency relief mission in Myanmar. Your team's contribution played a vital role in enabling us to respond quickly and effectively in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake.
Mercy Relief has successfully concluded its medical mission from 2 to 7 April, including the first Singapore-based humanitarian medical team to reach Sagaing, in response to the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March.
Led by Retired Lieutenant-Colonel Mejar Singh-Gill and Executive Director Muhammad Ashik, the team comprised Dr Fadzil bin Jaafar, Nurse James Quah, and Nurse Priscilla Joseph, and delivered vital medical aid, emergency shelter, food, and clean water to over 4,000 individuals across underserved areas in Naypyidaw, Mandalay, and the hardest-hit community, Sagaing.

With the support of over 60 specialised personnel and local volunteers, the mission brought together expertise across pharmacy, dentistry, counselling, screening, and field logistics — enabling fast and coordinated care in highly challenging conditions. The medical supplies contributed by your team were instrumental in sustaining these efforts on the ground.

Mercy Relief is preparing for the next phase of response, with upcoming missions planned to reach communities still facing disrupted access to essential services.
Your support remains crucial in helping us reach those still in need. We are grateful for your partnership and welcome the opportunity to collaborate on these upcoming medical efforts. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you would like further updates or have any questions.
Thank you for being a vital part of this mission.
Sincerely,
Tahiya Husain
